How do I transfer my UK domain to NSDesign?

If you already have a UK domain (.co.uk, .org.uk, .ltd.uk, .plc.uk, .net.uk or me.uk) registered with another company then you can transfer it to NSDesign and take advantage of our services. |
This is a straight forward process, and can normally be achieved within 24 hours.
The First step is to place an order for your domain (and hosting) on our website, entering your domain into the "dmain checker" and clicking "transfer" once it returns the domain as unavailable. On completion of the order, we'll email you specific instructions about how to transfer the domain - these instructions are also given below.
To transfer a UK domain you need to contact the current hosting company, and ask them to change the IPS tag of the domain to "NSDESIGN" (you may be able to do this yourself). This will give us control over the domain, and allow us to complete the transfer and set up any hosting for you.
Before we can host your domain, the IPS tag must have been changed. You can check this by going to http://www.nic.uk/ - Once at this address you should input your domain name into the "Domain Name Search" box, and click the submit button.
You will then be displayed "Domain Registered By:" information. If the IPS tag has been changed to us, this will read NSDESIGN.
Once you are sure the IPS tag has been changed, email us and we'll complete the transfer.
Optionally, you can also ask your current host to change the nameservers to where the domain will be hosted. You should contact us to get the nameservers of the NSDesign server you will be transferring to, and once you have these, forward them to your current host. Changing nameservers means you can actually "host" with us in advance of the transfer going through.
This is all you need to do to transfer the domain, but it may take up to 24 hours for the domain to complete the transfer from this stage. This means that you will not be able to access the domain via it's name on our system for up to 24 hours.
