Ongoing issues with Server 2

We are currently investigating the issue that is affecting Server 2 (dnsblock2). We currently believe it could be a hard drive issue that needs cloned and replaced mixed with a high load on the server.

Linux Server4 - Hardware upgrade (scheduled downtime)

Update: 11.45pm:  The HD cloning and move went quicker than planned, and the server is now back up and operational.  We're still having a few wee teething problems with the server load which is causing a few sites to load sluggishly, but we're working on resolving these asap.


Sorry for the short notice, but at 10pm tonight (UK time) we will be performing some essential hardware upgrades on Linux Server4.  

We are swapping over to newer faster (and bigger) Hard Drives (cloning the data from the old drives) and then moving these drives into a new chasis, with a significantly upgraded processor.

We apologise in advance for the downtime (estimated to be approx 3-4 hours) while this work is being carried out.

This upgrade is part of our continuous upgrade programme, ensuring customers always get the very best from hosting with us. Further improvements across our server range will be announced soon.

Server Upgrade Programme

Please be aware that as part of our continuous improvement programme, some of our servers are scheduled to be upgraded over the next few weeks.

This includes a mix of software and hardware upgrades, designed to ensure all our servers run at their best, while giving our customers the safest and most reliable setup.

We will be announcing more details of these changes as they are planned.

Server Wide Complimentary Upgrades

As part of our on-going commitments to remain competitive within the Domains and Hosting industry, we'll be rolling out complimentary server upgrades to all of our hosting clients. As part of the server wide upgrades, we'll be upgrading all three of our existing hosting accounts:

  • Standard
  • High Usage
  • Professional

We'll be rebranding the "High Usage" account as a "Business" account and we'll also be introducing a new "Plus" account, which will aim to bridge the gap between the Standard and Business Accounts. So the new accounts will appear as:

  • Standard
  • Plus
  • Business
  • Professional


We've just started the roll-out process and you'll soon notice a change within your control panel, with regards to quotas and allowances.

We'll release full details and breakdowns within the coming weeks, once our roll-out process is complete.

New Release: LiveDrive Desktop

Today we have released version 3 of our Windows and Mac desktop software.


The new software has been built from the ground up with a brand new design, making it even easier to use. The software now highlights more clearly your backup progress and the menus are simpler to navigate. More information about the new software can be found here -


If you already have LiveDrive Desktop installed, you will be automatically prompted to update to version 3 in the next few weeks. Alternatively, you can download the new software today by clicking the links below:

Please note: The new version of the software supports Windows Vista SP2 and above, and Mac OS X 10.8 and above. Customers currently running Windows XP SP3 up to Vista SP1 and Mac OS X 10.6.8 and 10.7 can continue to use the existing version of the desktop software.

New: LiveDrive for Android

We are happy to announce that LiveDrive will be releasing a new version of the Livedrive Android app. They have spent the past nine months rewriting the app from the ground up, making it easier to use, faster, and better looking. The app has now been submitted to the Google Play store and will be available to download shortly.

The app now matches the look of the new iOS app and includes mobile backup. This will make sure that you never lose your photos or videos, even if you lose your tablet or smart phone. Mobile backup however, is only available to Briefcase and Pro Suite users*.

If you have already downloaded the app, it will automatically update through wifi once the app goes live (depending on your phone settings). If you have not yet downloaded the app, you can download it from the same place in the app store, once the new app is released:
